From 6 to 11 February Russia-Singapore Business Council (RSBC) jointly with Russian House in Singapore organized film screenings within the International Short Film Days Festival via online resources of RSBC and at the site of the Regional Foreign Promotion Center of Russian High-Tech Companies and Presentation of Investment Projects.

RSBC and Russian House in Singapore annually hold cultural and educational events aimed at the development of spiritual, moral and patriotic education of the younger generation living abroad on the basis of Russian cultural heritage via the telecommunication technologies.

"Short films became extremely popular in recent years, both in Russia and abroad. They are versatile for experimenting and implementing new ideas. Short films keep the viewer in suspense until the last frame. The Singapore audience noted that an important trend in contemporary Russian short film is the fact that young directors are able to work professionally in the field of genre film, subtly feeling all the nuances. Festivals like International Short Film Days can be rightfully considered as a new progressive platform for cooperation between Russia and Southeast Asia”, – said Nikolay Volobuev, the Chairman of RSBC.

More than a thousand people attended the screenings of the festival. The Singapore viewers and online audience were able to choose and watch any film of three categories: Animation Film, Documentary Film and Game Film. Many have identified for themselves the extraordinary and very impressive works of such young and talented directors as Alena Oleinik, Alexander Kuzovkov, Alexander Ermolin and others.

Ivan Dobronravov played one of the main roles in Alexander Yermolin's film "Neoshibka". Let us remind that the Russian film actor Ivan Dobronravov became one of the of the guests of the IV Russian Film Week, held on the annual basis by Russia-Singapore Business Council in the Southeast Asia. Russia-Singapore Business Council also does not exclude the possibility of short film screenings during the V Russian Film Week this year.

Rossotrudnichestvo representative in the Republic of Singapore Alexander Soloviev highlighted: "Short films are an interesting and valuable way to learn about different aspects of life. Our viewers noted the amazing property of short films, which allows the viewer to plunge into the thick of the events and convey the characters and images of the characters in a much easier and faster way. Short films are popular in Singapore. Besides, every year the city hosts the Singapore Short Film Awards”.

Russia-Singapore Business Council plans to hold such events on a regular basis, since such young, yet popular industry is one of the key to promoting a positive image of Russia abroad, and develop intercultural relations and trust among nations.
