The quadruple butting system we use makes our modular homes both lightweight and exceptionally strong.
Butting means variable wall thickness of the steel tubes used in the frame. The load on the frame is unevenly distributed: in some areas it is maximum, in others minimal. We make the tube walls thicker where the load is higher, and thinner where there is almost none. This allows us to reduce overall weight while maintaining structural strength.
Quadruple butting means the tube has four different thicknesses along its length. Such a frame is comparable in weight to an aluminium one, yet surpasses it in strength.
Seamless steel tubes with variable cross-sections have been used since 1935. This is a technology refined over decades. We are not reinventing the wheel — we are using the best engineering solutions available.
