Exhibition of Russian Technologies

2018 is a year of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Singapore and the Russian Federation as a successor of the USSR.

In November 2018 in Singapore there will take place the East Asia Summit with the participation of Russian official delegation headed by Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation.

Singapore has been one of the main foreign trade partners of Russia in Southeast Asia in recent five years. In 2017 the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Singapore has increased by 94% over 2016 levels. Singapore is a reliable foreign investor in the economy of Russian regions. Today the largest projects with the participation of Singapore companies are: modernization and management of several Russian airports, gas pipelines construction, participation in development projects. One of the main investment projects is a project of multi-purpose agricultural enterprise including grain crops growing, feedlot, meet and diary production under the brand “Rusmoloko”, which is Russia’s third largest producer, and export of the products.

In 2000 in Singapore there were no more than 15 Russian companies or companies created by Russian nationals. Nowadays there are more than 400 Russian companies. Among the biggest there are Gasprom, Lucoil, Rosatom, Fosagro, Sportmaster, Acronis, etc.

On 12 November, 2018 the Exhibition of Russian Technologies begins its work in Singapore. The official opening ceremony starts at 14 p.m. local time. The exhibition will work until 2 December in TechPlace II technology park.

The exhibition is organized by the Center for Overseas Promotion of Russian High-Tech Companies and the Presentation of investment projects (hereafter – the Center), which was opened in Singapore in December 2017 on the initiative of the Russia-Singapore Business Council with the support of the State corporation “Rostec”. The initiative to create the Center was supported by the decision of the Russia-Singapore Intergovernmental high-level commission in October 2017.

At the exhibition there will be represented – physically or virtually – the most well-known Russian brands as well as startups. The largest partner of the exhibition is “Rostec”. This Russian corporation was established in 2007 to promote the development, production and export of high-tech industrial products for civil and military use. “Rostec” includes more than 700 companies, which form 11 defence-industrial and 4 civilian industrial holdings, as well as 80 directly controlled organizations with more than 500 thousand employees. The portfolio of “Rostec” comprises also such well-known brands as “AVTOVAZ”, “KAMAZ”, Concern “Kalashnikov”, “Russian Helicopters”, “Uralvagonzavod”, etc. “Rostec” companies are situated in 60 Russian regions, and their production is exported to more than 100 countries. In 2017 consolidated revenue of “Rostec” reached 1 589 billion rubles, net profit – 121 billion rubles, EBITDA – 305 billion rubles. According to the strategy of “Rostec”, the main purpose on the corporation is to provide Russian technological advantage at world highly competitive markets. One of the key tasks of “Rostec” is the implementation of the new techno-economic paradigm and the digitalization of Russian economy.

Among the world-known companies there should be mentioned Shvabe – the biggest Russian optical holding, the history of which began in 1837. Nowadays the holding includes 64 manufacturing and research enterprises situated in 4 countries. Here was created the largest telescope and some of the first laser devices. Today the assortment of the holding includes more than 6,5 million product items. At the booth of Shvabe there is medical equipment, optical devices and a special solution development system for the Smart City represented. Many other products for civil use can be viewed virtually.

One of the main partners of the exhibition is the Ruselectronics holding company – a key player of Russian radioelectronic market. Its share in output of radioelectronic components in Russia is more than 50%. It includes over 120 enterprises and scientific organizations specializing in development and production of radioelectronic components and technologies, means and systems of communication, automatized managing systems, robotics, SHF-radioelectronics, computer and telecommunication equipment, agricultural machinery and more. Products of the holding are exported to more than 30 countries including Southeast Asia.

RT-Chemcomposite holding company is also represented at an individual booth, at the same way as the above-mentioned holdings. This is one of the leading innovative companies in the field of chemistry and composites, Russian leading producer of polymer composites. The products are widely used in agriculture, in common life and in such specific spheres as the manufacture of organic glass for aircrafts and lens filters.

There are also individual booths of enterprises and organizations brought together under the auspice of the Government of Moscow and of the Russian Direct Investment Fund - Russia’s sovereign wealth fund with reserved capital of $10 billion under management. RDIF together with the biggest world’s investors puts money into the leading and most prospective Russian companies. Under the auspice of RDIF the Center for Investment Promotion “Invest in Russia” has begun its work. It will support gathering data on the investment opportunities in Russian regions. It will also help to promote prospective investment projects, inter alia to search foreign investors for their implementation.

Interesting solutions in the field of telemedicine and remote breast cancer screening are represented at the booth of “YSAR+” company – one of the leading Russian providers, developers and integrators of information systems and equipment for health care. The company has already been working 20 years at this market, currently implementing collaborative projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and other countries.

Furthermore, there are represented products and solutions of such Russian companies and organizations as “Russian Helicopters” (10% of the world helicopter assets market, helicopters for rescue services, firefighting, difficult climatic conductions, VIPs, etc.), KRET - Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (medical equipment, frequency and time standard devices, recharging stations for electric vehicles, etc.), Technodinamika (scientific developments and expertise for aircraft industry, manufacture of aviation filters and products for fuel systems), UEC – United Engine Corporation (engines, gas turbines), Techmash, NEVZ-Ceramics (ceramics for medical equipment and products and for personal protection equipment), industrial complex of Nizhniy Novgorod Region (“GAZ” Group, PROMAVTO LLC, Hydromash JSC), Development Fund of the Far East (upgraded battery system “BMPower”, seed-growing system “Greenbar”, etc.).

Besides Russian, there are also represented a number of Singapore companies, which already implement collaborative projects with the support of the Center.

Among them is vCargo Cloud, the leading provider of solutions and services in Asia specializing in trade and logistics technological solutions for governments and enterprises all over the world. In September 2018 there was signed an agreement on the integration of their platform CamelOne, which is used in 14 countries, with RSTrade information and service platform developed by Russian experts. RSTRade platform unites more than 80 thousand companies of 18 countries. The platform is available in 4 languages – Russian, English, Chinese and Indonesian. At the same time integration with Eurasian technology transfer, industrial cooperation and subcontracting net is being completed. Integration of these two platforms may lead to the emergence of a new global player.

MicePad is the Singapore startup supported by the Government of Singapore. This is the platform which helps to organize events, exhibitions, conferences and business negotiations. It also helps to regulate visitor traffic and provides their virtual communication. The solution is currently reaching the outer markets. In preparing the exhibition we used MicePad solution.

The main activities of the Diamond Aviation Leasing company are maintenance, analysis and deliveries of aircraft spare parts and components. In collaboration with it, RDIS and aircraft cluster of the State Corporation Rostec with the support of the Center for Overseas Promotion of Russian High-Tech Companies have started a project of the development of sales infrastructure and maintenance for Russian aircrafts (including various helicopters and a mid-range aircraft MC21) in Southeast Asia. This development path seems to be one of the most prospective. The size of the market of aircrafts of this range is more than 2500 product items, and the profit of the maintenance is much bigger than the gain of finished goods sales.

There are also many other companies represented at the exhibition.

After the end of the exhibition the exposition will be transformed into a permanent showroom of Russian technologies, regularly evolved along sectoral lines.

Russia-Singapore Business Council (www.rsbctrade.ru) was created in 2009 on the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development and the State Corporation Rostec. Currently includes 65 enterprises and associations of mid-sized and large business. Its partners are cca 40 Singapore enterprises and organizations. Progression Engineering (S) Pte Ltd (www.progression.sg) is the Singapore company founded on the initiative of the Russian-Singapore Business Council with the support of the State Corporation Rostec. The Center for Overseas Promotion of Russian High-Tech Companies and the Presentation of investment projects was created on its base. This exhibition is a variant of such presentation. The main goal of the company is the increase of international industrial and innovative integration for the business development in Singapore and in Russia as well as for the entry foreign markets with joint solutions. The company is integrated into Singapore business infrastructure. It is a member of the leading Singapore business associations, such as the Singapore Business Federation, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation and the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce. This makes it possible to get the state support from the Government of Singapore. It also helps to develop the network of partnerships in the business communities of Singapore and other countries of Southeast Asia, which regard Singapore as the technological, financial and logistic center.
