- detection of injured people under the rubble of buildings during earthquakes and disasters, under
snow avalanches for the Ministry of Emergencies, rescuers;
- detection of people behind walls behind closed doors for assault groups of the police, army, for
reconnaissance purposes.
The Pikor-Bio device was tested jointly with the Russian Emergencies Ministry to detect people
under rubble during earthquakes and man-made disasters. Together with the Ministry of
Emergencies, methodological recommendations were developed on the use of a mobile radar
complex for the detection of victims in the rubble. A number of patents for the device, software, and
methods for its use have been obtained.
The operator using the SKI-Bio software can control the parameters of the device and in real time
observe the detection objects on the radarogram. The program also allows you to record signals for
further analysis, put labels with reference to the measurement time.
The device is completely safe for the operator, the power emitted by it, distributed in a wide
spectrum of frequencies, is extremely small. During its work, it does not interfere with other radio
facilities and itself has noise immunity.
The Pikor-Bio device can be used both without separation from the surface of the probed medium,
and with separation from it.
The device uses ultra-short pulses of radio waves with high penetration through walls and floors
made of standard building materials, including bricks, blocks, concrete floors, including reinforced
concrete, wooden beams, plaster, wallpaper, as well as office furniture, glass, etc. The screen for
him will be only metal barriers.
The device includes:
- multifunctional display module Pikor-2;
- a portable computer such as a laptop or tablet based on Windows OS with SKI-Bio software;
- USB cable for data transmission and power supply of the antenna module;
- passport and operation manual.
Also, the device can be equipped with a device for securing the computer on the body of the
operator.
The principle of operation of the device is that the operator, holding the handle, directs the antenna
module into the wall (optimal work is without interruption from the wall to reduce the level of the
signal reflected from it). Then he visually observes on a computer screen on a radarogram changes
in the reflected signal when objects move behind the wall.
One of the conditions for the correct operation of the device is the absence of significant
movements of objects in the rear hemisphere of the radiation pattern of its antennas, because, due to
its very high sensitivity, the device can show, in addition to the movement of the target object and
the movement of the operator itself. In any case, these “false” responses are easy to identify and
ignore.
To verify and configure the operation, it is possible to place surveillance cameras in those rooms for
which the device "monitors". Thus, you can always check the information that the device gives out
and train the operator to correctly interpret the radarogram data.
