DESCRIPTION
Each computer has a digital signal processing processor (DSP), permanent and RAM variable configuration, direct access to memory, two serial ports, built-in timers and a system bus controller.
The following interfaces are implemented in various modifications of embedded modules:

The use of AMD is particularly effective in real-time control systems that require minimal weight, size, power consumption and low cost.
The use of the DSP processor allows AMD to solve a wide range of tasks in many areas of special and General equipment:
- communication - transmission of discrete information on switched and non-switched channels of PM communication systems of the Russian Federation, management of communication channels with automatic frequency reconfiguration, navigation;
- radar-calculation of phase distribution codes of the phased array antenna (HEADLIGHT), control of switching phase shifters;
- power plants - control of engine operation modes;
- medicine-cardiography, monitoring of the patient's condition;
- automation of gas stations.

There is a wide range of tools for creating and testing software: assembler, C compiler, archiver, link editor, special function libraries.
The modules are implemented on the domestic element base using foreign components, analogues of which are in development by domestic enterprises, and correspond to the operation groups 3,4 according to GOST RV 20.39.304-98.
As the basic computer in the product VSTS-A used domestic VLSI "system on a crystal" 1867VTS3AF development of JSC "research Institute" Argon "and FSUE "NIIET". In 1867VTS3AF for the first time in domestic practice implemented circuit-technological solutions that provide scalability of digital signal processing systems of digital signal processing processors with advanced peripherals at the level of the VLSI chip and the possibility of creating high-performance DSP systems on their basis.
VLSI communication capabilities have a wide range of speeds from 100kbit / s to 500mbit / s - high-speed system buses, interprocessor communication system, means of connecting to local networks of special and General purpose, interfaces of mass application.

The use of VLSI 1867VTS3AF in the computing facilities of the aviation communication terminal at-21 allowed, in comparison with similar computing facilities 248KVVSM, to increase productivity by 4 times, communication capabilities by 2 times, reduce power consumption and weight and size characteristics of the equipment unit by 2.5 times.
Modular open architecture based on AMD serves as the basis for building various configurations of computing systems required performance and reliability.
